Qwabe Twins is a band made up of the singing sisters Virginia and Viggy Qwabe. The 26 years old sisters came into the music scene after participating in the South African Idol talent show.

Since the show went on, they have collaborated with DJ Tira on a song titled Hamba. The Afro-pop singing duo who now go as Q Twins are beginning to make way for themselves in the industry with their beautiful vocals.

FAMILY AND BEGINNING

The Twins were born in 1997 to Lawrence Qwabe, the founder of the Pure Freedom Christ church in Nonoti north of Kwazulu in South Africa. Coming from a solid Christian background, the twins started using their voices in the Church choir.

They loved singing so much they would compose songs themselves and perform them among their friends.

EDUCATION

The Afro-pop twin attended their primary and Secondary school in Nonoti, attending the Nonoti Primary School and Senior Secondary, respectively. They started performing their music at school talent shows and events.

The sisters made it to the top 10 list. Still, Viggy had to forfeit the show after Virginia didn’t get enough votes to continue. There were serious allegations that the organisers rigged the show, which made their father tell Viggy to forfeit the show.

“After the show, DJ Tira, who had seen them perform during the idols show, fell in love with their performances and decided to sign them under his “Afrotainment” record label.

They have since released their collaboration hit with DJ Tira named “Hamba”, which is getting positive reviews all over Mzansi.
