Inno Morolong Speaks Out After Private Videos Are Leaked Online

Media personality and entrepreneur Inno Morolong has broken her silence after private and intimate videos allegedly involving her were circulated on social media without her consent.

In a statement released to the public, Morolong confirmed that the footage was shared without her permission and said the incident has caused significant distress to her and her family. She made it clear that this was a violation of her privacy and that legal action is already underway.

“My legal team is addressing the matter and taking the necessary steps against those responsible for distributing this content,” Morolong said. “This is not only a violation of my privacy, but also of my dignity and that of my family.”

Morolong used the opportunity to directly address the public, urging people not to download, save, or share the videos further. She emphasized that every share and repost adds to the harm caused.

“I am asking the public to respect my privacy and that of my family during this difficult time. Please do not circulate, download, or engage with this content. Sharing it only prolongs the violation,” she stated.

The videos began circulating on platforms like X, Telegram, and WhatsApp groups over the weekend, sparking widespread discussion online. While some users condemned the leak, others continued to share and comment on the footage, which is exactly what Morolong and her team are trying to stop.

Experts note that under South African law, the non-consensual sharing of intimate images and videos is a criminal offense in terms of the Cyber Crimes Act. Victims can pursue both criminal charges and civil claims against those who distribute the material.

Morolong, who is known for her work in business and television, said the leak has been emotionally draining. She highlighted that public figures are often targeted, but that does not make the violation any less serious.

“When your private life is forced into the public without consent, it affects every part of your life your work, your relationships, and your peace of mind,” she explained. “No one deserves to have their most personal moments weaponized online.”

She also thanked the people who have reached out with messages of support and asked for understanding as she navigates the legal process.

Her legal representatives confirmed they are working with cybersecurity experts and the platforms hosting the content to have it removed as quickly as possible. They are also tracing the origin of the leak to identify who was responsible for the initial distribution.

This case has once again sparked conversation in South Africa about digital privacy, consent, and online accountability. Advocacy groups have long warned that image-based abuse is on the rise, with women and public figures often bearing the brunt of it.

The Cyber Crimes Act makes it illegal to share intimate images without consent, with penalties including fines and imprisonment. Social media platforms are also expected to take down such content when flagged.

Many public figures who have experienced similar leaks have spoken about the long-term effects from reputational damage to mental health struggles. That’s why Morolong’s call for people to stop sharing is so important. Once content goes viral, it becomes almost impossible to fully remove from the internet.

For now, Morolong says her focus is on her family, her legal team, and protecting herself from further harm. She asked for space and for the public to refrain from speculation.

“I will not be defined by this violation,” she said. “I am asking for respect, and I trust that the law will take its course.”

As the investigation continues, her team is urging anyone who comes across the videos to report them instead of sharing them, and to support efforts to curb the spread of non-consensual content online.
