Actor Darlington Michaels, best known for his iconic role as Georgie “Papa G” Zamdela in Isidingo, has passed away

Darlington Michaels was a veteran South African actor with a career spanning over 44 years in the entertainment industry.

He is best known for his iconic role as Georgie “Papa G” Zamdela in the SABC3 soap opera Isidingo, a character he portrayed since 1998.

Throughout his career, Michaels appeared in various other TV shows, including Chandies, Gaz’lam, How to Ruin Christmas, The Road, and Vula Vala. His talent and versatility made him a beloved figure in South African television.

In addition to his acting career, Michaels was also a playwright. In 1984, he wrote and starred in a play called Survival.

He had also been working on his own productions through his company, Melisizwe Productions, showcasing his creativity and passion for storytelling.
