In a heart-wrenching ceremony last weekend, the Malindi family were laid to rest following the devastating crash on Monday, 14 July 2025, along the R42 Meyerton–Heidelberg Road.
The tragedy claimed six beloved lives, leaving the Unitaspark community in deep mourning.

The Unitaspark Park and tents were filled to capacity as hundreds of mourners—family, friends, neighbours, and church members—came together to pay their final respects.
Emotions ran high, with many struggling to hold back tears as they remembered the family’s warmth and kindness.
The deceased were:
David Khehla Malindi (68) – father
Anna Malindi (61) – mother
Mhlanganisi Malindi (32) – sister
Phindile Malindi (29) – sister
Xolani Bocibo (27) – cousin
Lwandle Malindi Tshabalala (3) – nephew
The funeral service was marked by heartfelt tributes, gospel hymns, and prayer moments as the coffins were lined side by side—a heartbreaking sight that left many in tears.

A wall of remembrance, set up earlier this week, featured flowers, candles, photographs, and teddy bears, symbolizing the community’s collective grief.
“Their passing has left a wound that will take a long time to heal,” said one of the family’s neighbours.
May the Malindi family rest in peace.
