MOKOPANE – The Mokopane Regional Court in Limpopo has handed down an 18-year prison sentence for attempted murder in the acid attack case involving Mmapeu, with an additional two years for pouring acid to run concurrently.
Delivered on February 9, 2026, the sentence was welcomed as a step toward justice, despite the survivor’s hope for a tougher punishment.
