Al Ahly to deduct their player’s salaries due to poor performance

Al Ahly players are reportedly set to face financial punishment after dropping points again this past weekend.

The 2025/26 campaign has been a below-par start for the record Egyptian champions as they have picked up just one win in five league games to sit 15th in the Egyptian Premier League.

The Red Devils played out a 1-1 draw against ENPPI in their first game since Jose Riveiro’s sacking, as the side failed to bounce back immediately.

Al Ahly’s poor results are reportedly set to have serious implications on the players.

According to a reliable source within the club, the players are set to receive a salary deduction, Yallakora reported.

“Sanctions will be applied to the players, with a percentage deducted from each player’s monthly salary,” the source said.

He added: The penalties come in accordance with the club’s internal regulations, due to the draw with ENPPI and the continued dropping of points in the league.”

Al Ahly have endured one of their worst league starts to the season, and the club is now looking to pick up the pieces after Riveiro’s disastrous tenure.

The source also revealed that the club made amendments to the first team’s code of conduct, as some punishments have now reportedly increased in severity.
