Former Orlando Pirates and Supersport united striker Thamsanqa Gabuza could soon return to the Premier Soccer League (PSL) after a number of clubs have shown interest in signing him.
A return to the top flight is now possible for Thamsanqa Gabuza as the recently promoted side Magesi Football Club have also joined the race to sign the player.
Ganda-Ganda will be turning 37 on the 27th of July 2024, however, that has not stopped the player from attracting interest from several clubs in South Africa.
Reports have reveled that the 36-year-old is currently training with the Pietermaritzburg based side, Maritzburg united. He has been training with the KwaZulu-Natal side for few days now as he is hoping to seal a deal with the club.

Despite being already 36 (turning 37 on Saturday), Thamsanqa Gabuza has not even thought of hanging up his boots. He still believes that he has a lot to offer, and it looks like he will soon be returning to the field after being a free-agent for almost five months now.
The player’s representatives stated that they would not hesitate to sign with Maritzburg united if an offer arrives. Gabuza is not really worried about the club participating in the 2nd division, as it would be his first time participating in the lower division.
Maritzburg united are currently participating in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, which is a division lower than Betway Premiership. They were relegated back in 2023 from the top flight.
The club were looking to return to the Dstv Premiership (now known as Betway Premiership), however, they failed to qualify for the playoffs. They are now looking to return and have already approached a number of experienced players.
Thamsanqa Gabuza is also believed to be interested in signing with Magesi, however, they are yet to reach an agreement.
Apart from Maritzburg united and Magesi FC, ther Premier Soccer League (PSL) clubs that are interested in Thamsanqa Gabuza are yet to be revealed.
Thamsanqa Gabuzaʼs background
Thamsanqa Gabuza was born and raised in one of the well-known KwaZulu-Natal rural areas, Newcastle. He was born on the 27th of July 1987.
He started his football career at Durban Stars Football Club, which is a club that is participating in the amateur league.
The 36-year-old then joined Lamontville Golden Arrows back in 2009. At Golden Arrows, Ganda-Ganda gained a lot of fame and attracted interest from several clubs, however, he ended up joining Orlando Pirates.
Thamsanqa Gabuza has a lot of memories with the Buccaneers. He was one of the most loved players at the club by the supporters, however, at the later stage of his career at Orlando Pirates, Thamsanqa Gabuza failed to deliver and that led to the supporters disliking him.
The supporters harrased him to point that he left the field while the game was still on, actually it was still the first half when Thamsanqa Gabuza stormed out of the field. After the incident, he left the club and joined Supersport united.
The former Orlando Pirates Star will be hoping to revive his football career when the 2024/25 season starts.
