“I’m deeply hurt because, if we were not turned away at Praktiseer Clinic, she would still be alive. They should have helped her on time and saved her life.”
Tebogo wants action taken against those who turned her away at the clinic.
“They must be held accountable for what they did to my baby,” she said.
Limpopo Department of Health has launched an investigation into the incident.
Department spokesman Neil Shikwambana expressed deep concern.
“Limpopo Department of Health has launched an immediate investigation into an incident that allegedly occurred on Friday, 28 March, at Praktiseer clinic.”
“It is alleged that a two-year-old toddler, who was experiencing a nosebleed, was turned away by clinic staff due to the child’s unavailable medical file.
“Sadly, the baby passed away before they could receive care at the other clinic, which is 5km away.”
“The department is deeply concerned over this incident and commits to fully investigate the matter to determine circumstances to determine the next cause of action,” said Neil.
Baby Revival was laid to rest on Monday, 31 March.
